Terms of use
Last updated October 22, 2026
By using DocRead you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
The service
DocRead is a free tool that converts documents to speech in your browser. It may change, pause or stop at any time, and features may be added or removed.
Your content
You are responsible for the documents and text you use with DocRead, including having the right to convert them to audio and to use any audio you save. Because your content is processed on your device, DocRead never receives, stores or reviews it.
Acceptable use
Don't use DocRead to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, or to create audio intended to deceive people into thinking a real person said something. Don't attempt to disrupt the site or the services it relies on.
Open-source components
DocRead is built on open-source software and an openly licensed speech model, each under its own license. See Credits and licenses.
No warranty
DocRead is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. Speech output may mispronounce words or misread documents, so don't rely on it where errors could cause harm.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DocRead and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the site. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to use DocRead, which is zero.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use DocRead after a change means you accept it.
